The South Carolina Association of Law Enforcement Explorers also known as S.C.A.L.E. was formed in 1979 with the desire to enhance Law Enforcement Exploring in South Carolina and to bring Explorer Posts throughout the state together at an annual competition. These competitions are hosted by a different agency each year and are now host to many out of state posts.

Each participant at the yearly competition receives a S.C.A.L.E. pin.  Challenge coins were introduced at the 2007 competition in North Myrtle Beach and will also be available at each competition.

During the yearly competitions Explorers from South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee and Virginia come together and compete in the following Law Enforcement related events:
